Bulimia Nervosa
Bulimia Nervosa Treatment
A Unique Approch to Treating BulimiaThe Küsnacht Practice provides an individualized treatment approach to meet the precise needs of each client. And we only treat one client at a time so our whole team of doctors, psychiatrists and therapists work with just one person. We look underneath the symptoms as a way to understand the function of the disorder in the client's life. And once we find the causes we treat them so that emotional and physical healing can occur successfully.
Eating Disorder Treatment
We work with clients to help them regain control over symptoms, resolve trauma, and allow them to develop the skills necessary to live comfortably with their eating disorder in check.
- Find out, using psychotherapy, the underlying issues that led to the onset of anorexia nervosa and help resolve those issues
- Testing and laboratory work to determine the nutritional needs of each client and based on the results our medical director, clinical director, nutritionist, traditional Chinese medical doctor and chef develop a plan of action. Biochemical restoration of the brain and central nervous system stops craving and is a treatment priority for every client

- An extensive family program that involves, when appropriate, family members living with the client during some or all of the treatment program

It involves a mentor who returns home with the client to help them adjust to their new life, daily telephone calls, return visits or a Küsnacht Practice team member visiting the client monthly for the first year and then on a declining frequency until the end of year three.
