Aid For Alcohol Addiction

Treatment For Alcoholism

A New Adventure In Living Is About To Unfold
We treat alcoholism/drug addiction as a chronic disease. It is not a moral issue and no amount of self will ever solves the problem. It is not about being weak or strong; good or bad. It is a progressive disease and it always gets worse, never better over the long term.

We view alcohol as a drug. And it causes more problems than any other drug.

Our goal for a chemically dependent client is to be abstinent from all mood altering substances, one day at a time.

We treat the entire person: body, mind and soul.

1. Our priority is to identify and treat the underlying causes of the addiction – physical, psychological, bio-chemical, and social.
2. Upon arrival our clients are placed in our partner hospital under the care of our clinical and medical directors for 2 to 7 days to be withdrawn safely from their drug of choice. We make certain the client will not experience a seizure and minimize the discomfort of the withdrawal process.
3. During the hospital stay we undertake a complete medical examination, complete all bio-chemical testing, and a psychiatric assessment. During this time an addiction therapist will be assigned and begin the addiction counselling process starting with an addiction assessment and our orthomolecular medicine specialist will supervise the biochemical testing and complete a lifestyle assessment.
4. On the basis of the assessments we will develop a detailed treatment plan. The treatment plan will determine the length of primary treatment – normally 1 to 3 months.
5. You will then move to a luxury 250 square meter apartment, or other agreed upon residence. They are the only client in the residence. The addiction therapist lives with the client in the residence. A chef, housekeeper, driver and other staff as required are on site as required.
6. Treating the underlying causes of the addiction includes a tailor made formulation of micro-nutrients and amino acids to counter the deficits identified in the bio - and neuro - chemical analysis. Cognitive therapies, EMDR, 12-Step Facilitation, Positive Psychology, Family Systems Therapy, and Trance Work are used to treat psychiatric, personality, social, addiction and family issues identified in the treatment plan.
7. We will, when possible, have the client’s most important family members attend a 2-day family program during the treatment. This is not mandatory but we strongly encourage it.
8. A typical day in treatment might include:

  • Morning yoga

  • Massage

  • Psychotherapy

  • Lifestyle coaching

  • Fitness training

  • Spiritual counselling

  • Psycho-education

  • Reflexology

  • Acupuncture

  • Addiction counselling

  • A 12-Step support group meeting

The real challenge in treating addiction is not stopping using. The real challenge is to stay stopped after returning home. In this regard we have an extensive aftercare program. See the aftercare section under “In Patient Treatment” for more information.
